8-4 Adjusting the Flange Focal Length If the lens does not stay in focus properly as you zoom from telephoto to wide angle, adjust the flange focal length (the distance from the plane of the lens mounting flange to the imaging plane). Make this adjustment after mounting or changing the lens.

Maintenance 9-1 Testing the Camcorder Before Shooting Check the functions of the camcorder before setting out for a shooting session, preferably by operating the camcorder together with a color video monitor. 9-1-1 Preparations for Testing Attach a fully charged battery pack. Set the POWER switch to ON and check that the HUMID indicator does not appear and that the BATT indicator shows at least five segments.
