(The microphone might pick up these sounds.) • Surfaces affected by vibration. • Recessed areas such as in a corner, under a cupboard, or next to a cabinet, which can generate an echo effect.

    Pause When a pause is needed to wait for a dial tone (for example, after you dial 9 for an outside line, or to wait for a computer access tone), press the pause button to insert a 3 second delay into the sequence when dialing (or when storing a number into phonebook.) The benefit to you is if you are making a long distance call to retrieve messages, if the Answering System does not answer after 4 rings, you can hang up.
