The concept of the charging process is explained
based on a 12 V battery.
Step 1: Condition check
The charger checks the battery condition and calcu-
lates the required charging parameters.
Step 2: Precharging
The battery is gently charged with a low charging
current to return the battery to a chargeable state.
Step 3: Soft start
The battery is gently charged with a low charging
current.
Step 4: Base charge with a constant current
The battery is quickly and safely charged with a
consistent current.
Step 5: Base charge with a constant voltage
The battery is charged at a constant charge end
voltage until it is fully charged.
Step 6: Monitoring
Once the battery is fully charged, the charging
process will stop.
Step 7: Maintenance charging
The charger monitors the battery capacity. Once
the battery falls below 12.8 V, the charger will emit a
charging pulse. This maintains the battery's highest
possible charging level.
SAFETy
FuNCTIONS
To avoid damage to charger and battery, the
charger will turn off its own electronic system and
will immediately reset the system to basic settings
in the case of

short circuit
•
wrong connection
•
open circuit
•
reversed polarity connection
•
Battery voltage below 3.0 V ±0.5 V
The charger will remain in standby mode and the
display shows the error indicator.
During the charging process, if the charger becomes
too hot or due to high ambient temperature, the
power output is automatically reduced. The charger
continues to trickle charge and automatically starts
increasing power when the temperature drops.
