Secure Installation and Operation of Your VersaLink Multifunction ® and Single Function Printer Purpose and Audience This document provides information on the secure installation, setup and operation. All customers, but particularly those concerned with secure installation and operation of these devices, should follow these guidelines.

In setting up the device to be in the evaluated configuration, perform the following 1. Authentication Passwords: Authentication passwords for unique user accounts established for all users and System Administrators should be set by the System Administrator to a minimum length of 8 alphanumeric characters unless applicable internal procedures the System Administrator must comply with require a minimum password of a greater length (the minimum length can be set to any value between 1 and 63 alphanumeric characters).

5. Personalization: Enable personalization by following the instructions for ““Configuring LDAP User Mappings” under “LDAP” in Section 3 of the SAG. 6. Immediate Image Overwrite (Only for VersaLink Multifunction Printers that have a Hard Disk Drive): Follow the instructions under ‘To enable Disk Overwrite’ under ‘Managing Disk Overwrite” under “Managing Disk Drives” in Section 4 of the SAG to enable Immediate Image Overwrite from the Web UI.

Select the Support > Support and Drivers links In the text box enter the model number of your device. A menu list of all Xerox devices with that model number will appear; select the one that corresponds to the product you have.
